Derrington proudly claimed to have been selling performance enhancing modifications since 1919, and pronounced themselves as the first tuning equipment supplier! According to the front pages of their catalogues and although I dont know if this is accurate I have shown an ad dated from 1923 which shows some of the exhaust systems they were producing, I believe they were set up to capitalise on the nearby Brooklands Race circuit and exhaust systems were their fist products.

They were very well established by the 1950's and undoubtedly knew their market having originally cut there teeth on supplying modifications for the old Brooklands race track. Amongst other things Derrington were the first official UK agent for Weber Carburetors, and if you wanted a Weber and manifold in the 60's it came through Derrington.
Probably one of the most desirable items they ever produced was the Derrington Steering wheel.
