Alexander Engineeering was started in 1947 and became one of the bigger companies during the 50's & 60's but by 1974 the completely withdrew from the tuning and modifying market to concentrate on the accessory side of the business until they finally shut up shop in 2001.
In 1953 they took delivery of one of the first overhead valve Morris Minors and promply set about improving the car as it was obvious the chassis could handle a lot more power, so the companies racing mechanics devised a means to extract more power and it was recieved so well that within 12 months over 100 Morris Minors had been converted and it became obvious that a new business venture was up and running with a reasonable profit.
